FUTURE MEMORIES
UTOPIA DYSTOPIA NATURE

The "FUTURE MEMORIES: UTOPIA DYSTOPIA NATURE" exhibition was my first experience as an assistant curator. I contributed to the artwork installation, coordinated the opening ceremony, conducted 8 guided tours, organized 2 workshops and 4 meditation art events, and designed a comprehensive book archiving over 200 works by 34 international artists, as well as documenting the 36 events held during the month-long exhibition.

This thought-provoking exhibition, curated by Dr. Harald Kraemer at City University, Hong Kong, invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature and explore ways to harmonize our lives with the natural world.

Events

My team organized and led 8 visitor engagement programs for youth and adults, including art meditations and collage workshops, attracting over 50 participants. We emphasized the benefits of meditation, such as stress reduction, improved focus, and overall well-being, while encouraging visitors to deeply engage with the art and converse with curators and artists. Inspired by Matthew Northridge's evolving work, our workshops explored the relationship between humans, urban spaces, and nature, fostering creative reflection on the past, present, and future. Participants were provided with materials like color papers, markers, and crayons to express their ideas creatively.

DOCUMENTATION - LEPORELLLO

One of the unique aspects of the exhibition is its maze-like design, allowing visitors to enter through two different entrances—each leading to the worlds of UTOPIA and DYSTOPIA. This layout immerses visitors in the artists' perspectives on the universe. To enhance this experience, we created a leporello to guide visitors through the exhibition.

DOCUMENTATION - BOOK DESIGN

I worked as a book designer and assisted Dr. Harald Kraemer in documenting the "FUTURE MEMORIES: UTOPIA DYSTOPIA NATURE" exhibition. This project involved capturing the curatorial concept, detailed descriptions of all artworks, and information on 36 engagement programs. The result was a collaborative effort that culminated in a 208-page book published in 2022, with 1,000 copies produced.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I am incredibly grateful to have been part of this impactful exhibition, which has given me profound insights into how humans affect nature and the urgency of taking action to preserve our planet for future generations.

I was deeply involved in every aspect, from operations and installation to artwork framing, guiding tours, hosting workshops and meditation programs, and documenting the exhibition in a book. This is truly an exhibition you won’t want to miss.
